TSG Insights: Solutions in Action Across Healthcare

February 12, 2026

As we begin a new year, we want to pause and reflect on where healthcare has been, where it is going, and the 35+ years of partnership that have shaped our journey alongside hospitals, health systems, and care teams.

Healthcare continues to operate under immense pressure, yet the commitment of clinicians, administrators, and support teams remains unwavering. We are grateful to partner with organizations that continue to move forward with intention, even amid complexity.

A Question That Still Guides Us

In 2003, our founder Kamruddin (Kam) Shams posed a question many healthcare leaders are still asking today:

“Clinical Documentation Challenges. Is There Light at the End of the Tunnel?”

More than two decades ago, this question captured challenges that remain familiar:

  • Clinician burnout driven by documentation burden
  • Workflow inefficiencies that disrupt patient care
  • Technology adding complexity rather than clarity
  • The need to align systems with how clinical and operational work actually happens

While technology has advanced significantly since then, the core challenge has not changed.
“How do we reduce complexity while improving care, accuracy, and outcomes?”
This question continues to guide everything we do at The Shams Group.

Our mission has never been about deploying more tools. It has always been about making technology work better for the people who use it through practical workflows, sustainable optimization, and people-first solutions.

Over the past year, that approach has translated into measurable adoption and real operational results.

As organizations continue to navigate EHR modernization and platform transitions, preserving access to historical patient data has remained a critical priority.

Through our Legacy Data Viewer, our healthcare partners have been able to:

  • Maintain continuous access to historical clinical and financial records throughout EHR transitions
  • Preserve longitudinal patient data without disrupting clinician workflows
  • Avoid costly data remigration efforts while ensuring data remains secure, searchable, and trusted
  • Support clinicians and revenue teams with consistent access to legacy information during and after go live periods

Rather than forcing teams to choose between speed and data integrity, the Legacy Data Viewer enabled a bridge between legacy systems and new EHR environments supporting continuity of care while protecting long term operational and financial efficiency.

This approach reflects our belief that successful EHR transitions are not just about moving forward but about bringing critical data with you.

Digital Front Door

Across multiple facilities, our electronic forms usage closely mirrors EHR registration volume, demonstrating that digital forms are being used as part of everyday workflow not as an optional add-on.

Hundreds of ezForms were successfully linked into MEDITECH Expanse, eliminating printing, rescanning, and manual indexing. These results reflect a registration experience that improves efficiency, accuracy, and compliance while reducing administrative burden for staff and patients alike.

Our Digital Front Door also includes Contactless Portal and Patient Check-In continue to show strong alignment with real-world patient behavior in Canada.

  • Scheduled Visits achieved over 84% digital check-in adoption
  • Contactless workflows are being introduced intentionally, supporting phased rollout and patient readiness
  • No incomplete digital check-ins were recorded, reinforcing reliability and patient confidence

These adoption rates validate a measured, workflow-aligned approach to patient access scaling digital engagement where it delivers the greatest value.

Driving Insight Through Reporting, Automation, & Stability

Beyond patient access and registration, we continue to support organizations through:

  • Financial and clinical reporting that turns data into actionable insight
  • Revenue Cycle automation that reduces redundant manual work
  • Dedicated DBA services that ensure systems remain monitored, optimized, and secure
  • EHR professional services that drive optimization, reporting accuracy, and operational performance

These behind the scenes efforts are essential to sustaining performance in complex healthcare environments.

Some Things Change. The Mission Doesn’t.

Technology will continue to evolve. Regulations will shift. But our commitment remains the same
