Internship

The Shams Group (TSG) is seeking interns for the following positions, including but not limited to, Accounting, HR & Office Coordinator, Project Management Office (PMO), Technical Writer, Programmer (Software/application developer), Technical Support, and Digital Trainer.

Location of Internship: Dallas, TX

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shadowing members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties.
  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Preparing financial reports, invoices, and other documents.
  • Working with Accounting software.
  • Performing administrative duties as required.
  • Documenting accounting processes.
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company and clients.
  • Preparing Ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.

Requirements::

  • Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting
  • Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, honesty and responsibility.
  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.

Candidate will be working in a small office environment and will be given the opportunity to learn all several aspects of HR and office administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shadowing members of the HR department as they perform their duties.
  • Assisting with Global Hiring in the company- Scheduling interviews, Pre hire Process and on boarding process.
  • Understanding and executing work in compliance internal policies and procedures applicable to the HR department and Office Administration.
  • Learning and maintaining employee records and leave management.
  • Assisting with external compliance reporting and forms.
  • Performing administrative duties as required- including handling office front and coordinating with team for daily operations.
  • Documenting HR processes.
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about HR and office operations.

Requirements::

  • Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business Administration. HR focus related degree is a plus.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong research, organization, documentation and time management skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.

Location of Internship: Dallas, TX or Shreveport, LA

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist project manager in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects
  • Help coordinate and manage projects from inception to completion
  • Review project designs and contribute ideas for cutting costs
  • Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner
  • Facilitate communications between office and field staff
  • Track and directly report project status updates to project manager
  • Help problem solve issues and suggest ways to improve the project
  • Organize, file, and maintain all current project documents
  • Enter information into and manage the digital project databases
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with necessary specifications
  • Help create, manage, and maintain project budget
  • Coordinate and execute daily administrative tasks
  • Schedule and confirm deliveries to field staff
  • Help create and adhere to project timeline and calendar
  • Schedule meetings, phone calls, site visits etc.
  • Consult with and gather information from technicians, engineers, contractors, etc.
  • Maintain positive vendor and client relationships
  • Ensure project adheres to set schedule and is meeting goals of the client

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, support and maintain applications based on business requirements, using approved technologies and coding standards
  • Create and maintain user interface patterns and standard libraries
  • Apply object-oriented principles when implementing solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues
  • Maintain code quality through unit testing
  • Document code appropriately for maintainability
  • Communicate with business analysts to gather accurate specifications for new enhancements and applications. Translate requirements into functional code
  • Collaborate with team members on projects
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Requirements::

  • Students with Computer science, computing and or engineering background will be given first preference
  • Educational experience in .Net, Java or C# and SQL programming
  • Understanding of object-oriented and relational database design
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners and credit card machines
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Provide technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone or through remote access)
  • Setup accounts for new users
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary
  • Test new technology
  • Maintain positive vendor and client relationships
  • Communicate respectfully with end users

Looking for individuals to assist with digital training

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct IT skills gap analysis
  • Design technical manuals using simple language
  • Conduct role-specific training on tools and programs each team uses daily
  • Research and recommend learning systems
  • Apply educational methods to engage
  • Train new employees on proper use of hardware and software
  • Perform regular organization-wide trainings on varies technology
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of each educational session
  • Maintain updated records of training curriculum and materials
  • Identify educational needs, designing educational material and ensuring all employees complete computer training
  • Review company policies on computer use and cyber security
